Pattern Method is still an idea of sorts. It is a project that I have been thinking about for some time now and I'm excited to finally have a place to start to flesh it out. I have read many things about creation and creativity and fear and innovation (I love to over-research) ... and I have come to learn that if you worry about things being perfect before you release them into the world, they might never happen.
So I'll try it. I've started with an idea and a feeling for a project and will have to work out the practical details as I go. Pattern Method is a community, first and foremost. It is a place that may just now exist online, but I imagine it will exist in a physical place someday.
Who could be part of this community? There will be an exploration of pattern for everyone that is drawn to it. For those who have to buy all 3 colors of a favorite shirt because they look so pretty together. For those who buy fabric (because it's awesome!) and have no idea what they'll do with it. For those who craft, design, decorate, and create whenever they can.
It is also for people that think they aren't creative but are envious of those that seem to be. It is for those who are so inspired by all of those cute d.i.y. boards on Pinterest, but who couldn't imagine actually putting their own stamp on them.
Do you love IKEA napkins? Do you want to be a printmaker? Do you want to know what the heck ogee is?If the idea of being part of a creative community that supports you, in all of your authentic, creative, pattern-loving craziness, then you are SO in. Boy, am I glad to have you.
